1. Water plug leakage in the engine
Due to the corrosion of scale, the water plug rusts through, and the cooling water will enter the oil channel from the water channel to the oil pan. This reason is very common, so check the water plug frequently.
Reason for water ingress in the hook arm engine oil
2. Damage to the engine oil radiator
The radiator pipeline is damaged, and the water outside the radiator will penetrate into the engine oil radiator, causing the engine oil to enter the oil radiator.
3. Cracks in the cylinder liner
When the cooling water contacts the working cylinder liner, it is easy to crack. Once cracks occur, the cooling water will directly enter the cylinder and enter the oil pan through the cylinder wall, which will make the engine oil white, and the whitening of the engine oil will cause problems such as poor engine combustion and white smoke. Under normal circumstances, the cylinder liner is not easy to crack, but in some cases, such as in winter, the cooling water is not filled with antifreeze and causes freezing, which may cause the cylinder liner to crack.
4. Damage to the cylinder liner seal
Damage to the cylinder liner seal is a common cause of water ingress into the engine oil, so when troubleshooting the cause of the fault, be sure to check whether the cylinder liner seal is intact.
5. Damage to the cylinder gasket
If the cylinder gasket is damaged and the water circulation speed is fast, the water in the waterway will flow into the engine oil channel, causing water in the engine oil. Damage to the cylinder gasket is also one of the common causes of water ingress into the engine oil. After each disassembly of the machine, try to use a new cylinder gasket to avoid leakage of the cylinder gasket and oil leakage, which will cause engine damage.
Four methods to judge whether the hook arm mechanical oil is water ingress
1. Observe the appearance of the excavator's oil. You can easily judge whether the oil contains water by color. The oil without water presents a translucent oily bright color, while the oil containing water presents an opaque brown or khaki color.
2. Check whether the excavator coolant contains oil. If some parts of the engine are damaged, the engine coolant will enter the lubrication system and mix with the engine oil. The infiltrated engine oil will also be found in the water tank coolant, which can be easily identified.
3. If the engine oil is flooded, it will react chemically with the coolant under high temperature to form an emulsion. Checking the dipstick will reveal that it is white and accompanied by foam.
4. When the excavator's engine oil contains a large amount of water, the oil level will rise. At this time, we can simply judge by the level of the oil dipstick. Summary: For the excavator oil flooding failure, we can judge whether the oil has flooded by observing the appearance color of the oil, the oil level height, and the oil coolant. When the engine is flooded, do not start the engine a second time. A professional maintenance worker is required to clean the water inside the engine. Next, check the oil radiator, water plug, cylinder liner seal, cylinder liner, cylinder gasket, etc. to determine the cause of the oil flooding.
