How to clean the fuel tank of a small excavator

1. Flushing method

The small excavator retains some residual oil at the bottom of the fuel tank. Take a plastic tube to pass 19.6-29.4KPa compressed air into the bottom of the fuel tank to make the oil in the tank roll. During this process, the end of the air pipe should be constantly moved to fully flush the entire fuel tank. When the flushing is completed, the small excavator should immediately discharge the oil in the tank. Usually, the above action should be repeated two or three times until the oil in the tank is clear.

2. Steam method

Drain the oil in the fuel tank of the small excavator, disassemble the fuel tank and fill half a tank of clean water. Then, take a catheter and extend it into the fuel tank along the refueling port, and let the steam enter the fuel tank through the catheter to make the water in the fuel tank boil. After keeping the water in the tank boiling for about an hour, pull out the steam catheter and drain the water in the small excavator tank. Because water can wash away the colloid and oil impurities attached to the inside of the oil tank and float them on the water surface when it boils at high temperature, the dirt will be taken away as the water is drained. Same as the "blowing method", repeat this action two or three times until the water discharged from the oil tank is clean, then the oil tank is considered to be cleaned.

3. Solvent method

Clean the inside of the oil tank with hot water, and then blow it dry with compressed air. The purpose of this action is to eliminate the oil vapor in the oil tank of the small excavator. When the steam is eliminated, take a 10% sodium hydroxide aqueous solution to thoroughly clean the inside of the oil tank, and then flush it with clean water. When the inside and outside of the small excavator oil tank are clean, the cleaning is considered complete.
