1. Fault manifestation
When the excavator is working on the construction site, the "excavator engine rotates but cannot start" fault occurs, causing the excavator to fail to work normally and the construction site progress is slow.
2. Fault cause analysis
The excavator engine rotates but cannot start. The fault may be caused by the excavator engine stop mechanism failure, the excavator fuel failure, the excavator fuel pipe failure, etc.
1. Check the excavator engine stop mechanism and check whether the engine stop mechanism control wiring is faulty.
Supplement: If the excavator engine stop mechanism has a fault and the control wiring is improperly adjusted, the engine stop mechanism needs to be replaced to adjust the control wiring.
2. If there is no fault, further check the excavator fuel tank to check whether the fuel level is within the specified range.
Supplement: If the fuel tank level value is not within the specified range, it is necessary to add fuel to the specified range.
3. If the fuel level is within the specified range, continue to check the excavator fuel pipe to check whether the fuel line is blocked or damaged.
Supplement: If the fuel line is blocked or damaged, the excavator fuel line needs to be repaired or replaced.
4. If the fuel line is not damaged, further check the fuel filter to see if the fuel filter is faulty.
5. If there is a fault (the fuel filter overflow valve cannot be closed), the fuel filter overflow valve needs to be repaired or replaced.
Extended reading: Fuel filter failure causes the excavator engine to rotate but cannot start. There are two common causes of fuel filter failure:
1. The fuel filter overflow valve cannot be closed, and the fuel filter overflow valve needs to be repaired or replaced.
2. The fuel filter element is blocked, and the fuel filter element or filter cartridge needs to be replaced.
In short, the repair method for the excavator engine that can rotate but cannot start:
Principle: first outside and then inside, first easy and then difficult
1. Check whether the fuel injection pump flameout cable is returned to its position.
2. Is there oil in the fuel tank and whether the fuel tank switch is turned on.
3. Whether the fastening bolts of the fuel injection pump operating rod and the drive connecting plate have fallen off.
4. Loosen the bleed screw on the fuel injection pump and use a hand oil pump to pump oil and exhaust.
5. Check if the oil pipe is leaking or blocked.
6. Check if the fuel filter and oil-water separator are blocked.
7. Turn the starter with the engine to check if the fuel pump is pumping oil.
8. Loosen the injector oil inlet pipe joint, add the throttle to the bottom, press the starter switch, and check if the fuel pump is pumping oil. If not, it means that the oil volume adjustment lever is stuck in the oil stop position (i.e. the rack is stuck); if it is an A-type pump, remove the side cover of the fuel pump to check and eliminate the fault; if it is a P-type pump, etc., take corresponding measures.
9. Check if the valve timing is accurate. If it is not aligned, adjust it.
10. For engines equipped with VE pumps, check if the oil cut-off solenoid valve and control circuit are faulty. When it is confirmed that the oil cut-off solenoid valve is damaged and a new solenoid cannot be found immediately for replacement, the solenoid valve can be removed, the plunger valve and spring can be taken out and reinstalled as they are, and the solenoid valve can be powered off as an emergency measure (this method cannot be used for electric flameout, but can be used for manual flameout).
