Generally, one of the problems that masters who often work in construction are worried about is mechanical failure. In fact, some minor faults can be eliminated by themselves. Accumulate some emergency knowledge in advance to prepare for emergencies. Today, the excavator parts manufacturer will share with you a problem that excavator drivers often encounter, that is, what to do if the excavator cannot start.

There are two situations where it cannot start, one is long-term inability to start, and the other is temporary inability to start. If it cannot start for a long time, especially in winter, your excavator may have to go to the "hospital". It may be due to valve leakage or large piston ring gap, resulting in insufficient compression temperature, or other reasons. In short, it needs a professional maintenance master to deal with it. If it cannot start temporarily, for example, it has been working normally before, but suddenly it cannot start, or it cannot start after just stopping and starting. In this case, we can check the cause of the problem. First, check whether the power is on, and second, check whether there is insufficient fuel or pipeline blockage.

When checking the cause, consider these aspects:

1. Start the switch, no sound means no power

Excavator parts manufacturers recommend checking whether the battery pile head is in poor contact or burned. For some models, it is recommended that you first confirm whether the hydraulic main switch is locked, because there are many models that cannot be started when the hydraulic main switch is not turned on.

2. The start switch is on, but the speed is slow and the sound is weak

It means that the battery power is insufficient. The excavator parts manufacturer recommends checking whether the generator belt is normal and measuring the power generation. If everything is normal, under normal circumstances, you should contact a professional repairman.

3. The starter motor speed and sound are normal, but it cannot start

It means that the oil has not arrived. It is recommended that you clean the diesel pipeline to see if it is blocked. The two points that are easily blocked are the small filter at the bottom of the diesel tank and the hand oil pump. It is also possible that air has entered when changing the filter element. Loosen the exhaust screw and use the hand oil pump to pump oil to remove the air.

4. Cold car is easy to start, hot car is difficult to start

Different from the usual understanding, the symptoms of this situation are that it is easy to start in the morning or when the temperature is low. After the water temperature of the machine rises to a certain temperature, it cannot be started after turning off the engine and restarting. Wait until the machine cools down before starting again.

If after several investigations and treatments, the excavator is found to have no movement after starting the engine, if the hydraulic problem is excluded, there are two other reasons for this phenomenon in principle.

The first is that the rubber block connecting the engine and the hydraulic pump is broken, causing the rotation of the engine main shaft to be unable to be transmitted to the hydraulic pump. The probability of this failure is relatively low.

The second is that your hydraulic main switch has failed. There are usually two designs for the hydraulic main switch of the excavator. One is directly controlled by hydraulic components, and the other is controlled by electronic components. Nowadays, most of them are controlled by electronic components, but they are also more likely to fail.
