There are many types of aerators. There are about 20 types of aerators in my country. The working principles of different types of aerators are different, and the applicable occasions are also very different. Correctly selecting and using aerators to give full play to their effectiveness is a necessary ability for every aquaculture worker.

1. Impeller aerator

1. Working principle and main functions

The impeller aerator is through the rotation of the impeller, the blade teeth scrape the water body, forming water droplets thrown into the air, and at the same time promote the air to dissolve into the oxygen, forming a negative pressure on the back of the machine. The blade teeth inhale air, and then the mixture on the back of the blade teeth is broken to form a large number of bubbles, which promotes the dissolution of air. The impeller aerator promotes the dissolution of air into the water by three means: leaping water, negative pressure intake, and updating the liquid level. Therefore, the oxygenation speed is fast and the oxygenation efficiency is high; at the same time, the impeller aerator also has the function of lifting the water body and promoting the up and down convection of the pool water.

2. Use of methods and techniques

In the process of fishery production, in order to promote the upward and downward convection of water bodies and reduce the oxygen debt of pond water bodies, the aerator is generally turned on for 1-2 hours at noon on sunny days. At this time, most aerators are chosen for impeller aerators. The main reason is that the impeller aerator has a water-lifting function, which can lift the anoxic water body of the pond to the bottom layer. Under the action of photosynthesis, the amount of oxygen dissolved by photosynthesis is increased, and at the same time, gases that are harmful to the human body are released: the surface oxygen-rich water is forced to sink, and the surface oxygen-rich water is forced to sink, increasing the total amount of dissolved oxygen in the pond water and reducing the oxygen debt. When the aerator is turned on at noon on a sunny day, the dissolved oxygen in the upper and middle layers of the pond water is basically saturated or oversaturated, and the dissolved oxygen of the aerator has little effect; in order to reduce this part of the energy consumption, when installing the aerator, the height of the disc can be appropriately lowered, the amount of water can be increased to increase the jump degree, and the negative pressure entering the air can be suppressed, thereby reducing the energy consumption of dissolved air and improving the effectiveness of water.

Water lifting efficiency. Some manufacturers produce aerators that extend the disc axis downward and install multi-stage small blades to improve the water lifting effect of the impeller aerator; this type of impeller aerator is only suitable for deep water ponds with a water depth of more than 3.5m; shallow ponds will stir up a lot of mud and make the pond water turbid.

In the morning, when the pond is hypoxic, most people use impeller aerators, mainly because impeller aerators have the ability to efficiently increase oxygen. However, at this time, the water lifting function of the impeller aerator is not only redundant and wasteful, but also brings a large amount of oxygen debt and harmful gases contained in the bottom water to the surface, increases oxygen consumption, and slows down the speed of the upper water flow. The rate of increase of dissolved oxygen content in the water body has a negative effect on hypoxia first aid. In order to improve the oxygenation efficiency and reduce the amount of water lifting, when installing the aerator, the disc height can be appropriately increased, the amount of water diving can be reduced, the maximum negative pressure air intake can be guaranteed, and the amplitude water jump can be increased to increase the atomization rate. Since the impeller aerator has a certain degree of sinking when rotating, it is necessary to repeatedly debug during the installation of the aerator to find the best wheel height. Some manufacturers have improved the wheel disc and reduced the inclination of the wheel disc, which greatly reduces the water lifting performance of the impeller aerator. Negative pressure air intake is the main reason for the impeller aerator to obtain strong oxygenation capacity: but some discs on the market currently have only multiple air intake holes at the bottom, and no air intake holes on the back. The impeller teeth are small and the air intake is insufficient, which greatly reduces the oxygenation capacity of the impeller aerator; therefore, when buying and selling impeller aerators, special attention should be paid to the position and number of air intake holes on the disc.

2. Impeller aerator

The waterwheel aerator forms a pressurized airflow in front of the blades through the rapid rotation of the blades and presses it into the water to form a large number of bubbles, which promotes the dissolution of oxygen; forms a negative pressure airflow on the back of the blades and mixes with the water droplets that hit the back of the blades to promote the dissolution of air; at the same time, when the blades extend out of the water, the water droplets and water mist expand the contact surface between water and air, so that oxygen dissolves. The waterwheel aerator also has the function of promoting the horizontal flow of pool water.

The oxygenation efficiency of the waterwheel aerator is not as good as that of the impeller aerator, but it is used for morning hypoxia emergency treatment. It will not stir the bottom water or bottom mud, which is conducive to the rapid rise of dissolved oxygen in surface water and the lateral diffusion of oxygen-rich water. In order to further improve the oxygenation capacity of the waterwheel aerator, people installed an air pump on the waterwheel aerator to form an aerator combination, which not only greatly improved the oxygenation capacity, but also gave full play to its ability to promote the diffusion of oxygen-rich water bodies, which is more conducive to the morning emergency oxygenation of the pond. Waterwheel aerators are generally used in shallow ponds or factory fish ponds, as well as some special aquatic products (such as eels) breeding ponds and fish egg hatcheries.

III. Jet aerator

I. Working principle and main functions

Jet aerators form negative pressure through the jet water in the jet, inhale air, mix it with water at high speed, and then spray it out to achieve the purpose of oxygenation. Because the rapids contain a large number of bubbles, the oxygen in them is continuously dissolved into the water body during the rising process, and harmful gases in the water body are taken away at the same time.

The processing capacity of the jet aerator is not as good as that of the waterwheel aerator and the impeller aerator, but its stirring capacity for the water body is relatively small, so the jet aerator is mostly used for benthic, fearing that it will interfere with the aquatic products in the water body. Breeding ponds increase oxygen.

IV. Surge machine

1. Working principle and main functions

The surge machine is driven by a motor to rotate the disc, and the small blades on the disc push the water flow to form waves on the water surface, and continue to spread around to achieve the purpose of destroying the water film on the water surface. The surface of the water is renewed to facilitate the dissolution of air. The main function of the wave machine is to destroy the water film, the upper and lower water layers of the water body, and the basic stirring ability of the horizontal distribution.

2. Use of methods and techniques

The surge machine is mainly used for oxygenation at night without wind and can be turned on all night. During the period of feeding a large amount of artificial compound feed, an oil film is easily formed on the water surface, which hinders the dissolution of air, aggravates the lack of oxygen in the pond, and causes the pond to flood and float; especially when feeding granular feed with high oil content or spraying oil outside, the oil film on the water surface becomes thicker and thicker. Turning on the surge machine all night can not only continuously destroy the oil film on the water surface, renew the liquid surface, and promote the dissolution of air, but also will not stir the water body, causing hypoxia to occur early; at the same time, the surge machine has low power and low energy consumption.

5. Water quality improver

1. Working principle and main functions

The water quality improver mixes sludge and water into mud through a submersible pump, sucks it in and sprays it into the air, realizes the oxidation and decomposition of organic matter and other intermediate products in the sludge, releases harmful gases in the sludge, reduces the oxygen consumption of the sludge, reduces the oxygen debt of the pool water, and promotes the release of nutrients, increases the fertility of the water body, and promotes the reproduction and growth of zooplankton.

2. Use of methods and techniques

When using a water quality improver, you need to keep moving slowly. If it is fixed, then it only sprays bottom water, not mud. In addition, the water quality improver can only be used from 12 noon to 2 pm on sunny days when the dissolved oxygen in the pool water is high. It can only be turned on for 1-2 hours a day, and the mud can only be used for 1-2 hours a day.

It can only be turned on for 1-2 hours a day, and the mud spraying area should not exceed one-third of the total area of ​​the pond.

Although there are many types of aerators, and each type of aerator has different advantages and disadvantages, in order to give full play to the advantages of various types of aerators and make up for each other's shortcomings, for ponds with larger areas that require more than one aerator, it is best to install more than two types of aerators. In recent years, people have not only improved and innovated the aerator discs and blades, but also designed many new aerators, and the functions of aerators such as oxygenation, water pushing, and water discharge have been greatly improved.
