Excavator oil burning refers to the oil loss found in the excavator operation is higher than the oil consumption of the same model of excavator, and the operation is accompanied by blue-black smoke and other phenomena. Oil burning is the oil entering and burning.
Excavator oil burning is one of the more serious faults in the excavator engine failure. Let's learn about the causes and solutions of excavator oil burning:
Excavator oil burning fault classification: a lot of blue smoke is emitted when starting; a lot of blue smoke is discharged when refueling; a lot of blue smoke is discharged from the oil filling port; consumption exceeds the normal requirements.
Causes of excavator oil burning:
1. The lower exhaust emits blue-black smoke during the operation of the excavator, and the oil consumption is observed to be more than usual, indicating that the excavator is burning oil. It may be caused by piston ring wear, large valve clearance, large valve guide clearance, piston installation error, etc.
2. The clearance between the cylinder liner and the piston is too large, or the piston oil ring is stuck or broken.
3. If the oil burning phenomenon is accompanied by oil dripping from the lower exhaust, it is likely caused by severe wear or breakage of the piston ring.
4. Burning oil. If the exhaust is not serious, it may be caused by the poor sealing of the turbocharger. At this time, it is recommended to remove the pipes at both ends of the turbocharger to see if there is oil. If there is oil, it means that the turbocharger is faulty.
5. In addition, the poor sealing of the engine valve oil seal will also cause the excavator to burn oil.
6. Too much oil.
7. The excavator uses oil with too low viscosity.
Common treatment methods:
1. First check the oil volume of the excavator to see if it has exceeded the upper limit of the oil dipstick.
2. Check the turbocharger and loosen the hoses at both ends of the intake and exhaust. Normally, it should be dry. If oil is found, there may be a problem with the turbine, causing the oil to flow from the turbine to the exhaust pipe.
3. Pay attention to the exhaust pipe when you just start the engine in the morning. If there is thick black smoke and a clear smell of oil, it may be that the turbine is leaking oil.
4. Check whether the exhaust gas from the engine exhaust pipe is heavy. Normally, you should see light smoke at most. If the exhaust gas is very heavy, or even dripping oil in severe cases, it is time to repair the engine.
5. In addition, the turbine oil blowby is generally not too little, so the exhaust pipe should be checked.
6. The engine oil should be selected correctly. The corresponding viscosity and type of engine oil should be purchased according to the requirements of the excavator, and the engine oil should be selected reasonably with seasonal changes or different regions; diesel engines must use diesel engine oil, and gasoline engines cannot be used as a substitute. Different brands and models of engine oil cannot be mixed.
