Excavator lifting skills

Post by BONOVO »

For novices, hoisting an excavator is a very dangerous operation. The following points must be remembered!

1. Safe hoisting to prevent slipping
Generally, there is a hook behind the bucket. It is safest to use it for hoisting, especially when the object needs to be hoisted to a certain height. If the rope is hung on the bucket teeth, it is easy to slip during the lifting process. Using a hook can ensure that the rope will not slip, which is the most recommended safe hoisting method.
When the hoisted object is very close to the excavator, it is very suitable to directly hook the object with the bucket teeth. In addition, if the lifting distance is not very high, it is also very convenient and efficient to use the bucket tooth hook.

2. Stable lower plate to prevent rollover
Standing firmly on the body is the precursor of efficient and safe operation! When hoisting, the excavator must stand on a horizontal parking surface; if the object must be hoisted on an inclined plane, a horizontal parking surface can be dug out first. The direction of the excavator chassis is also very important. The smaller the angle between the hoisting direction and the chassis crawler direction, the safer the excavator is, and the larger the angle, the easier it is to cause the excavator to overturn.

When the excavator is hoisting, it is actually in a lever state. Always pay attention to the distance from the center of gravity of the hoisted object to the center of gravity of the excavator.

The closer the hoisted object is to the center of gravity of the excavator, the safer the excavator is and the hoisting capacity can be maximized; the farther the hoisted object is from the center of gravity of the excavator, the greater the risk of the excavator overturning and the more limited the hoisting capacity of the excavator.

3. Reasonable operation, safety first
When hoisting objects, you must pay attention. Don't lift too high when it doesn't need to be lifted too high. Once the excavator is in danger of overturning, lower the boom as soon as possible and quickly put the hoisted object on the ground.

The last point is that when hoisting, you must ensure that there are no people nearby. Before lifting, make sure that the hoisting rope is vertical to prevent collision and casualties.
